10 tips for relaxation

Here is a list of things that you can do to help relax the mind, body and soul.

The relaxation list:

  1. Chiropractic. An adjustment can help shift the body back to a relaxed (parasympathetic) state, from a stress (sympathetic) state.

  2. BREATH! controlling your breathing a simple way to slow the heart, rest the mind and calm the soul. 5 slow diaphragmatic (imagine breathing all the way into your toes) breaths in, through your mouth, counting to 5 and then 5 slow breaths out, through your mouth, counting to 5 is one of my favorites.

  3. Nature. feeling a connection with nature is incredibly grounding.

  4. "I'm sorry". Forgiving yourself and others is a great way to relax and release tension.

  5. Nap time. Take a quick 15-20 min refresher nap during the day.

  6. "Thank you". Write thank you notes and say thank you to the universe, to yourself and to others.

  7. Tea. take a few moments to make some herbal or mint tea and enjoy it quietly with no screen time...which leads me to

  8. Move. Stretching, dancing, walking/running, etc. stimulates brain activity and circulates oxygenated blood!

  9. Meditation. Similar to breathing exercises this takes it a step further and helps you visualize and intention set, while in a state of meditative bliss.

  10. No Screens. bury the phone/tablet/computer, when you feel the urge to check socials or just to scroll. Instead try something from this list.
